newbie here

New to the forum. I joined awhile back but havent posted till recently. I got my grandfathers 78 gmc about 2 months ago. He bought it new. My dad drove the truck for a few years, but he passed away 5 years ago so it has been sitting for quit some time. Time to bring her back. Just ordered new GM crate motor today. Tranny is getting rebuilt this week. Interior is in good shape so I will leave it alone for now. Eventually I want to put Tahoe seats in.The body need some work, a little rust. Oh yeah, Hello to all

Welcome from Kansas. My brother in law had a truck just like yours and the same color.

Welcome to the forum smills78gmc. It looks like you have a good solid start to work with. It's nice to have a project that has some personal history involved. Make Dad and Grandpa proud...

Re: newbie here

Welcome to the board from Western Kentucky. Looks like a nice truck. Will your ashtray stay shut? Those springs seem to give out. I know mine did. Got out but have not put new springs in yet. Bugger getting out. Again welcome. Thanks for the pictures.
