Mickey Thompson DR's

I'm considering getting American Racing 23 series wheels in a 15x10 and mounting the Mickey Thompson 325-50-15 drag radial (not ET street).
Anyone have this combo or just any 15x10 wheel with these tires? If so how do they perform and if you have pictures...please. Thanks.

I run a set of 315-60's on 10 inch wide centerline autodrags. They work as good as the slicks I had before and are cheaper. I have run 11.94@112 with a 1.66 60ft. with these with 15psi air pressure. If you run them on the street air them up to spec and they're like any other radial tire. Traction suffers with them like this though. This pic from Brainerd shows that the sidewalls even wrinkle. The pic sux because of the massive resize to post it.

Wow! That's INSANE 60' time for a truck! What's your secret? 4-link? Cal-Tracs?

Stock leafs with Cal-Tracs. Hopefully it will get better when I get new shocks and fool with the bar adjustment and angle to get rid of the excessive rear end rise on launch.

I would think you will have to accept a little rise in the rear end . The more it wants to rise just means it is pushing the tires down harder and planting them . You are pushing that big truck hard and it looks good doing it . Nice truck ! Frank

Do you by chance have a stationary picture of it to compare the amount of rise to ?

Thanks for the info and picture BADGMC. That's a helluva nice sleeper truck there!
I ordered the wheels yesterday. I'll pick up the tires tomorrow and post some pictures when they're installed.

Yes, I know some rise is acceptable and it is far better even in the pic than it was before the bar install. The top of the tire is only about 1/2" below the lip of the opening when stationary. The front shocks are not allowing the front to rise on launch like it should which then causes the back to come up instead. You can feel the whole sequence of suspension action during a launch. Before the bars the rear end would come up so high and fast it would top out the shocks and burn the tires off. Goodys86 I am looking forward to seeing the tires on yours as they are a mean looking tire.

Hey maybe you guys can help me also on the same subject. I have an '86 sb 2wd with a 383 stroker. (Sportsman II heads (64cc) flat top pistons comp 286h cam holley 750VS............ any how it has a 2500 stall with a 3.73 gear with a powertrax no slip posi unit. It wont hook up for nothing w/ street tires so I was thinking of buying a set of the MT ET street radial tires. The truck has stock suspension other than being lowered 2" in the rear. Do you think these tires would help me out any or would it still break loose or wheel hop just as bad? If I run it now it I have to rolllll into the gas to keep it from spinning.

PS I guess I need to change my signature as my "bad 383" is running strong. I'm guessing it has about 390-400hp at the flywheel.

Dude, my 260hp Goodwrench 350 will spin the tires 1/8th mile! (If my local track was 1/8th mile, I'd spin the entire track!) Trust me, get Cal-Trac's and ANY Drag Radials (M/T's, BFG's, American Racer's) and you'll see results, proof is in the pudding.
