I just removed my pushrods from my BBC and I have to say I have never seen this type before, how about you guys. The top part is about 1 inch and is pressed in, then the bottom end (lifter side is about 1/4 inch and is pressed in as well). This one has actually seperated, so I am getting new ones, I am just trying to ID these. Where they stock (doubt it) high dollar. Let me know.

I believe the area that has separated is hardened to prevent wear problems with the pushrod guides. I bought a used 454 and the PO had installed the pushrods upside down and they were all quite worn from rubbing on the guide plates. Who knows how much powdered metal went into the oil system - just drained directlyinto the valley and on to the lifters and camshaft. I wound up replacing everything.

These were rightside up, I just had never seen them. I actually thought that they were junk because I could see the ring around them and thought it was a wear mark from the guideplates. I had them all out except the drivers rear (#7) when one of them seperated the one in the pict, then I saw that they were three seperate pieces. I was just wondering if these were cheapo's or high dollar, but I do not plan to use them again. Any ideas?
