f150 mirrors
i know some of you guys are running these on your trucks. i been thinking about it as well, but concerened about the support from the small mounting area bending my door on a bouncy 3/4 ton short box 4x4 do they seem prety stable or do they viberate and shake around a bit i dont want every car that comes up behind me at night to look like he has flashing lights

Re: f150 mirrors
There's an arm that extends into the door. I cut mine off and just mounted to the sheetmetal with a backing plate and they were pretty stable. If you wanted to take the time, you could find a way to use that arm to add support.

Re: f150 mirrors
i used a backing plate aswell, after trying to weld my own support arm to the existing one, and then finding out ford used an aluminum one so i didn't have any luck with that. i havent driven it yet so i can't tell you more than that.

Re: f150 mirrors
for mine instead of using the 2 screws to the door skin alone, i put a thick piece of steel behind the doorskin and ran the screws through that. it's like using a hidden washer. for the support arm, i cut if off.

Re: f150 mirrors
I haven't had any problems with mine either. I even run with trailer mirrors slipped over mine the odd time.
