Tow hook mainia ????
There seems to be a big mainia with the tow hooks, my question is which are the most sought after the 67-68 style or 71-72 and are the 69-70 the same as either the 67-68 or 71-72. Another question is if there is such a demand for these why hasn't anyone tried to repop them.

Re: Tow hook mainia ????
72 only are the most sought after(sharpest curl to the hook). 60-ish to 68 are the least, 69-72 are the mid desirables(mild curl to hook).
The mania has been going for several years now. Cost is probably the main issue as it is with most things. Short run forged steel pieces will be plenty expensive. If someone does start repopping these please let me know ahead of time so I can unload my originals before the price plummets.........

Re: Tow hook mainia ????
Thanks for the info and you wouldn't have to worry about me repoping them with my bank account LOL. I just wondered why someone with the $ has not tried this by now being there is such a crave for them. I am guessing they are only found on 4x4's correct.

Re: Tow hook mainia ????
I have found a set of 67-68 on a 2wd last summer.
And my 72 ones in my avatar were on a 4wd. Jason |

Re: Tow hook mainia ????
I pulled a set of 68 style off a C30 a couple of years ago at a pick and pull for $15. Yeah baby!!!!
This last weekend I'm cycling out in the sticks and pass a rotting way old truck (pre-60's). The hooks on truck caught my eye so I stopped and checked them out. They are 68 style. I may go back and ask the owner if I can buy them off him...

Re: Tow hook mainia ????
They`re only valueable because they are original.Repops could never sell for the cost toproduce. There are plenty of options for hooks that are inexpensive.I for one wouldn`t pay much for hooks that were`nt original.

Re: Tow hook mainia ????
You guys do not have to worry about me repoping them for my bank roll could not handle it. I was just wondering with such a demand for them, why one of the big Companys such as Classic industries or LMC has not tried this yet. They do repop other hard to find items such as tachs, vacuum gauges, tach lens, tach printed circuit boards. I feel like you guys if I had some I would not want them reproduced either.

Re: Tow hook mainia ????
I found a 67-68 set at a swap meet in Lincoln, Nebraska for $5, turned around and sold them on here for $160, found a 69-72 set(unmatching) at a yard sale in Columbia, MO for $10, and another unmatching set (one mild and one sharp bend) at a swap meet in Sedalia, MO for i think $10. Ron Manes at Manes Truck Parts can vouch for me All total i have owned 8 hooks, two matching sets, and two unmatching. They seem to congregate towards me
