are 67-68 turn signal lamp plugs differant

ok heres the deal,
someone from nc contacted me last night through 1 of my ebay auctions and asked me what the plugs for the signals in the grille look like,

meaning are the termenals in the plug perpindicular or are the in a v shape

after i looked into it, all of mine are in a v shape.

however ive seen a set of nos turn signals that are suposed to be correct for 67-68 , and they looked correct to me, but the terminals are in a t shape.

could these be for 66 or older????????
i looked at my 71 turn signals and they are in a t pattern but thats a total differant light

the person who contacted me got his truck back in pieces and his marker lights wont plug into his harness i believe his harness is the v style .

so what is up with these 67-68 looking turn signals

hope i was clear enough explaining this
so whats the deal!!!!!!

please set us straight on this thanks..

The connectors are different. I installed a set of '68 turn signals on my old '67, and I had to splice in the connectors.

Re: are 67-68 turn signal lamp plugs differant

Yes they are different. I think it had to do with the way the lights were set up. On the '67, the "parking lights" go on at the first click of the headlight switch, and go out when the headlights are on. On '68s and later the "running lights" go on at the first click, and stay on with the headlights. I think it was related to the safety mandates that also required side markers on the '68s and later trucks.
When I put a '68 grille on my '67 Suburban, I had to remount the original '67 parking lamps in the grille. [I didn't want to cut and splice, so I saved the '68 running lights set.]
