When did GM stop calling them Carryalls and start calling them Suburbans?

HHm good question,my 70 on invoice says carryall,I'm gonna guess and say 73

Thanks,I know the 67ups had Suburban nameplates.I always thought the pre-67s were Carryalls and people just call them Suburbans.Chevy likes to say they`ve made Suburbans since`36 in advertising since the SUV invasion.But,they were called Carryalls.The Suburban name was on the Plymouth station wagons sometime after WW2,through the 50s.

Lots of info there,wow!Thanks.It seems both names were general terms like "station wagon" or "pickup".

I`m worse,I`m rural,just plum ignant

.I`ve been trying to come up with a new name for the suburbanites that seem to be overtaking the countrysides around the nation.My little town(6 miles away)has grown 10-fold and now has a more Gucchi air about it.

"Carryall" was a Chevy name, Suburban was used by Both GMC & Chevy. I use to have a 1964 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall brochure, but I gave it to a chevy guy for a websit ethat never came to be....foolish me.

All my GMC brochures call them Suburban with out the use of Carryall anywere. The Panel truck BTW was an option for PICKUPS, that's how it was listed in the 1964 GMC dealer data book, and Suburban were listed by themself's. So if you wanted a Panel you had to order a pick up with the option #0120 to get a panel.
