Intake Manifold Bolts?
Stupid Question
Are small block intake bolts grade 8 or just run of the mill 3/8 bolts. If so, can I use stainless? If not, where to buy the correct ones?

I got my stainless from Summit. I would use anti sease(sp) on them

I bought Mr. gasket ones locally. I can't get mine to seal though.

they are run of the mill bolts, I like using the smaller head ones, they are easier to deal with.

If you're using stainless, there can be problems with them if they aren't properly heat-treated. I would only buy made in USA. If you buy at the hardware store, get at least grade 5 bolts. If you need a small head go with socket head cap screws.
Also, if you have aluminum heads, don't use stainless. Even with hi-temp anti-sieze you can loose the seal and galvanic corrosion will then occur.

ARP makes a nice set in stainless, good quality too, and the trick is to put that liquid pipesealer on the threads, not thread tape.
