Painless wiring/radio question

I installed my painless harness and the radio only works with the key in the on position. Shouldn't it work when the key is turned back too? My glovebox light and dome light work when its turned back. Been so long since I've powered it up I can't remember how it used to be.

Re: Painless wiring/radio question

Sounds like you just need a different feed wire! Off the back of your ignition you should be able to find a power wire that is hot in Acc as well as in the on position. If your painless harness is a factory replacement for the original than it is workiing like it should. Back then it was only powered in the hot position. Sounds like you are only a wire cut away from full time sound!

Re: Painless wiring/radio question

OK thanks. I just wasnt sure if it was suposed to be that way. I'll find a wire and splice it in like you said. I want to be able to listen to the radio without hearing my fuel pump run.

the wire should be an orange wire. this should be the accessory wire if memory serves me correct.
