Driveline on backwards
As some of you might remember me complaining that my 67 P.O.S. C10 convert to C20 I bought off ebay was vibrating horifically. My trans started spewing fluid like old fathful, several stops, 5 quarts of tranny fluid and a really sinister glare from a CHP later I took it to tranny shop and discovered that the blind-two toothed hack that built the truck put the drive shaft on backwards, destroying the u-joints and shaking the sh** out of the truck, including loosening and losing the tranny mounts, breaking the coolant lines and causing tons of damage to every system on the truck. The bill for the repairs is more then replacing the driveline. You wonder why buying a truck off ebay is such a good idea right? Crud, what to heck do I do now?!?

Re: Driveline on backwards
fix it, move on and chalk it up to lessons learned: when something is wrong with the driveline, inspect everything from radiator to pumpkin.

Re: Driveline on backwards
Why did it ever get driven if it was shaking/vibrating so badly?
That's a bigger mistake than installing the driveline backwards. |

Re: Driveline on backwards
Exactly, improper installation is one thing.Driving it until it falls apart is another.
