hinge mount on door caved in
New guy here, 69 chevy c10 stepside, well i was lookin at the drivers door and the lower hinge area just rusted through and fell in. Is it something that can be cut from a donor truck and welded in or is there a patch piece or what not i can use

Re: hinge mount on door caved in
I don't think they sell a patch panel for that but you could cut one out of a donor truck and replace it, just make sure you do a good job of welding it, it would kindof suck to get your project finished open the door and it just fall off

I am afraid it's time for a new door.

Re: hinge mount on door caved in
Yikes! There is a patch panel for the lower section of the pillar, but I don't think there is one that goes up to the hinge mount. You probably could use the lower section, and fabricate the rest. How is the reat of the cab? Might be easier to find a solid cab and replace the whole thing.

Re: hinge mount on door caved in
Not surprised the driver's side rocker is gone, too. The problem is water leaks in the hinge pillar through the fender and door hinge bolts. There's no drain in there, and it will start to eat the lower section of the pillar, and then the rocker. Your best bet would be to section in the pillar from another cab, and maybe use a replacement rocker.
