I'm interested in convert my steel bed to wood what's involved?
Anyone ever done this? My truck's bed has had a hard life and the floor is bent with some small rot. Buying a LWB and having it shipped to CT is near impossible. I think a wood floor would be a nice look and easy to get the pieces new and shipped. All and any info would be great.

You will need a new header panel for a wood bed instead of metal, you will need the bed cross supports for a wood bed instead of a steel and I think that is it, if you get an LMC catalog then it lists everything needed in there but I would buy the parts from a board dealer you'll get better prices and better service.
Almost forgot you will need the strips that go between the boards and boards!

Here are the differences in the header panels. The wood version is the deeper/taller one. I won't be using it if you need it. I also have some support beams that I think are for a wood bed, but I only have 2 + the rear one. Not sure how many are required.

You will also need the rear crossmember for the wood floor. It has a step for the wood to fit into.
