Dash Help!
I have a 1973/1974 Chevrolet 3/4 ton pickup... It has the factory (Am?) Radio...I want to lose it and put in a CD player... What do i do?? because if i remove the stock one there will not be enough room and it will have two holes from the knobs... anyway to fix this problem without mounting it under the dash or something???

You could get a custom autosound radio that will fit in the stock dash and has CD Changer Controls. The model is the USA-6.
Putting a DIN style will require you cut up the dash. |

What ever you do please don't cut the dash up to put a newer style radio in. Do some research on the internet, there are plenty of companys that put new insides into old radios.

Yup, me too. Unless you plan on keeping a 100% concours-correct truck, cut the dash and put in a modern radio.
I have step-by-step instructions, but cardomain is down right now. Once it's up, go to www.cardomain.com/id/jim85iroc and click on the link for my truck. Page 2 is the radio install. |

That is a good article, but I am looking for one that covers switching from a two post radio to a newer style radio. Thanks anyhow.
