Installing windshield molding trim piece
Hey folks. The windshield in my truck has the rubber molding that has a chrome trim piece in it. Trouble is that the trim piece is missing on mine causing a lot of wind noise, plus it leaks around the molding real bad. I purchased the chrome trim piece from LMC, but for the life of me I can't seem to get it in. I think it takes either 10 people with two hands or five people with four hands to get it in because I sure can't do it by myself. I'm hoping some of you have tackled this before and can pass alone some helpful hints that will help me get mine in. Thanks much.

Re: Installing windshield molding trim piece
Go to a body shop and borrow the tool that they have for putting this piece in or go to the local Snap-on Dealer and buy the tool. It can be put in using a couple of flat tools, but you and I are not good enough to get it done in a single day. The tool will fit it in without pain in about 20 minutes and that includes triming. BE SURE not to stretch the plastic chrome piece, take time to fit it in easily. If you stretch it, a gap will form after you trim it, as the plastic pulls back into itself. Also, use some windshield cleaner spray to lubricate the plastic as it is installed. Very important.
