68' Ambulance

I ran onto a 68' K20 ambulance today. The owner says it's factory and was only made for 2 years . I was courious if it was really factory. Anyway it's for sale for $1500obo and it's got very little rust.It has some owner mods but overall it's very strait.Rebuilt 327/4spd/221 Rockwell.

Are you thinking of buying it? If not where is it at? I am heading to Nebraska this weekend.

Sounds interesting. The ambulance stuff is not factory. It`s installed by a specialized upfitter, like a conversion company.

Re: 68' Ambulance

I'd love to see pics of that beast - if I had to ride in an ambulance, I can't think of anything better than it being a 68 K20!

Here's the phone # 308-546-2206.The guy's name is Mitch. You will get Sandhills Motel when you call but that's the owner and he lives there I think. BTW it has a nice set of 67' towhooks on it .

Re: 68' Ambulance

There is a 67 or 68 factory ambulance outside of my town. I've been eyeing the "white" bench seat with an intact seat-cover. I'll stop by and take pics sometime. I believe it is a 3/4 ton 4x4.

I know it's a matter of semantics, but I guess the fact that the '68's were made beginning in '67 and continuing into '68, is the basis for his statement. I believe that ambulance conversions were made all along, and were not respective of specific years for limitations in production.
