oh boy, wheels and tires
if that pic shows up, then you will see, if not, i am getting 15 by 10 american eagle rims series 146. they are aluminum. so that sucks, but at least they wont rust, i just gotta work to keep them clean. ANYWAY...my question is does anyone have 15 by 10s with 295/50s? they are gonna be only 27 inches tall, but real wide. will they fit? i think they should cuz they dont bow out much, they should be straight. does anyone have this set up to tell me if it works for sure or not. what other tire would be taller, without getting much narrower, like the 275/60?? any help is appreciated, thanks, Ben

The 275-60 would be slightly taller @ almost 28" & would fit the 10" rim.

275-60's would fit, but I wouldn't put anything less than a 50 series on it. Just measure your backspacing before you buy the wheels and the tires should fit fine.......JB

I have 275/60's on a 9.5 inch wide rim...15 inch. There is plenty of room left for more. I wish I woulda gone with 295/50's.
Bamm 24, why would you not go with a 50 series tire? With a tread width of 295 mm, the side wall would be 59 mm tall...a good 5 inches if I am not mistaken. |

I think the 295/50 is 145.5 mm (5.81 inch) side wall height for an overall diameter of 26.61 inch and a 11.61 inch width at the fattest portion of the tire. The 275/60 is 165 mm (6.5 inch) side wall height for an overall diameter of 27.99 inch diameter and 10.82 inch width. Taller and a little narrower. Depends what you want for top speed and filling the wheel well up, I guess. Most tire shops will mount them up and let you pick what you like...as long as you are going to buy from them.

lol mike. anyone have 295/50s on a 10 inch rim, on there pickup? i would really like to see a picture, especially of one at stock hight 2wd. the original rims are about 26 inches tall, so they help me see how tall the 295/50s would be, but its still hard. the tire guy said that 275/60s would fit a 10 inch rim, but he didnt recomend it. the main reason i am going with 10 inch is i want them out farther. if i got 15 by 8s could i put a spacer in there?? he quoted me 96 dollars a rim, for those 15 by 10s, but in the paper there was a set of 4 centerlines with 31s mounted on them for 100 bucks. thats almost too cheap to pass up, but i dont like the looks of them. i really like these ones. man, this can get confusing. sorry for like 15 questions in 5 sentenses, but can anyone help? i think the pics of 295/50s on a stock height pickup would be really helpful. thanks for the replies so far! everythings appreciated, Ben

I was running 295/50's on my 70 with 10" rims. I don't think they will be tall enough for a stock height truck. My 70 was 4, 6 drop, and a stepside. The tires stuck out about a half inch. Sorry, no pics.

you think it will look funny with them short tires? thats what i was worried about, but its hard to know untill i see a picture. but i know 275/60s look good on 15 by 8s, and that would only be about 1/2 inch taller than the 295/50s, so? man a picture would REALLY help? anyone thanks for that link to the zoops seal stuff, looks cool, but EXPENSIVE!

Longhornmail- What I was saying was that I wouldn't put anything less than a 50 series (i.e. 60 series, 65 series) on ten inch wheels because I don't think that they will look right............JB
