things required 2 adapt an s-10 wheel to a 69gmc
i am interested in this swap, are there any specific things i need to pick up at the junk yard other than the wheel? thanks for the advice. Pumpkin Truck oh yeah, the wheel will be like the one on 383 Stroker's, from the eighties i believe. thanks again.

I just put a wheel from a 79 camaro in mine and it fit just fine. Make sure you get the little plastic thing that is on the the steering column underneath the steering wheel though. It is part of the horn contact, and on mine the horn won't work with the one that was on the truck. I didn't get the one from the camaro, but it must be different.

Yup, direct bolt on, racedvl has one on his, and I had one on my old '70.

Yup Andy (longhornmail) is correct. I have one in my truck. And I love it!! Get the wheel, and the white plastic turn signal cam from underneth. Then, take your old turnsignal cam from your truck and cut the little cone at the bottom off. This will keep your whole wheel from moving around. You will notice the s-10 turn signal cam does not have that cone/race at the bottom. After you cut it off, slide it back on the shaft, put the s-10 cam on top of it, then put on your wheel. hey thanks a lot guys i will let you all know how it goes! btw racedvl, is that a mr gasket shifter, cause i have one just like it on my six cyl. the shifter is close to the seat in third gear. Also is that a pool ball knob? i always wanted to put the striped 13 ball on mine cause it is orange and white, just like my truck.

The shifter is the orginal Hurst shifter that came on my passenger car M20. And yes, that is a pool ball. Get a GOOD Quality pool ball! A cheap one will strip out quickly!

BTW, the shifter handle is also a hurst, that I found at a swap meet.

Hey thanks a lot everyone. My mistake racedvl. i thought your shifter was like the one i got at autozone for $40. IT is a cheap little thing cause i felt awkward with the tree shifter, my dad makes fun of me and told me i should have gotten the hurst one. BUt i was ignorant. As far as the pool ball, when i get my hands on one, where would i go to get it drilled? A machine shop or could i do it myself. thanks again

I drilled it myself. Easy. Just start with a smaller drill bit. Then work to the size bit you need. Then when you go to tap the threads, don't bottom it out to hard... I've seen them split because of that. And also, try not to drill past the center of the ball. Try to stop before the center.

Te keep from going too far, measire the height of the ball, then divide it in 1/2. Then, measure the drill bit and put a wrap of electical tape around the bit right at that location. You just drill to the tape, and your right at 1/2 way into the ball.
