Re: Shaved Drip Rail Pics for AesC10s

Angle grinder w/ cut-off wheel. Did a couple feet at a time and tacked it together as I went. The thing is if you just shave the rail, the door corners look like garbage. So they have to be rounded IMO. I've only done the pass-side door, so I'll include pics of both sides so you can see the diff. I don't have any pics of the rail shaving in progress but I have a few of the door corners. Some of the pics are messed up (before the digital), but you can see what they're trying to show.

Do you have any pictures of the back of the cab after the shave? This is something I've been contemplating with my project and would like to get an idea of what it would look like.

I don't have any recent ones that show the back edge very well. Here's an older shot of it.

I should add that I reshaped part of the cab as shown in the pics:

You are doing some great work on this truck! I like the door mods you have done, I had to think twice if that is how they came or what before looking down at the rest of the pic's. Keep it up!
Also what are the front wheel openings from?

Thanks Kevin. I need to get back on it! Been busy with the Burb and life...

I used 67-72 front arches in my front and rear fenders, but had to make the 67-72 lower belt line go away...

Go for it! I've never seen another 60-66 done this way. Where can we see pics of your truck? I don't think I've seen a 60-66 sectioned before either.

Your right about the door tops, they look much better that way than being squared off
Ive got to order some new cab corners my old ones were rotted and then ill post some pics of the section. also have a little more work to do on the doors. Heres a couple of crummy pics of the truck before the section You can see with the top chop why i wanted to section it, the body just looks too fat in the middle...
