Well, I picked up a truck a couple weeks ago, as oulined in this post:

I am also getting married on 24 June this year. I have a personal goal of getting that truck in shape to use as the getaway vehicle from the ceremony. My fiancee' supports this plan fully.

I am going to update this thread occasionally with my progress.

As of now I have 92 days left (we leave for San Diego on 22 June). The truck is totally stripped and the frame is at the powdercoat shop (dropped off yesterday). The TBI 454 is still in Oregon, and I still need a TH400. I did locate a Blazer fuel tank for $32 yesterday. I am replacing the wheel bearings in the front axle tonight - the rear has all new bearings and a new disc brake setup, but is at the same shop as the frame being blasted (gonna POR-15 it).

Final paint color suggestions (single color)? Original was actually red, but has faded to orange.

Are you sure it was red or was it Medium red? My C10 is medium red and everyone calls it orange. it just seems odd that it would fade in the jambs and behind the gas tank. I had planned on driving my K10 when I got married but it rained like the devil the day of our wedding, I try to keep it out of the rain so we drove the Jeep instead. Good luck on the project.

I was curious about the trans hump myself. In the post with the pictures of when the truck was brought home before disassembly the transfer case shifter looked out of place. There may be some later model parts already tucked under there somewhere. Here's a picture of my Medium red C10. As far down as you have this truck you could pretty much do whatever color you want.

Is there a body lift?
Any signs of the cab being swapped out?
Does the VIN start with a K?

Mine was supposed to be done for my wedding. An hour before the wedding we where still bolting in seats. Hooked the gas tank, fired her up and I put on my tux and drove it to the church. It was the best feeling in the world. All of that time and MONEY was well worth it. It is something that I can tell my kids when they are getting married. I am even hoping to pick the wife up from the hospital with it in September, she says to bring her Bravada but what say does she have in it really. GOOD LUCK, it certainly is a realistic goal.

Thanks alot for the compliments. At least my wedding was only a couple of miles away from the shop as I don't think that it would have been safe to take it much further. We where supposed to take it away on the honeymoon to the east coast but we took a friend's '82 El camino SS instead, cheaper on fuel and fun as all get out. We are planning on taking the '68 east on our 10 year anniversary though with the kids on a camping trip.

Concerning the low hump - it looks like I did get a bit of a mutt. That doesn't really bother me, as I'm not going the all-original, matching numbers route. The VIN indicates that it's a 2WD 3/4-ton. The frame is 4WD (has riveted front leaf spring mounts). Anyway, can't complain for the price I got it for. I'll look for a 4WD hump and modify the cab.

Progress:
Get the frame back from powdercoat (and my sandblasted axle) today after work

Received my Offroad Design rear shackle flip last Friday
Received my extended stainless brake hoses last Friday
Got poly body mounts Saturday
Got all new bearings/oil installed in the front axle over the weekend (rear axle already has new bearings)
Made arrangements to pick up the 454 in Oregon the first weekend in May

Got the frame back from powdercoat.
