Van Seat's?

Has anyone modified the base on a set of van seats to work in our trucks?
I was thinking about just cutting a section from the center support and re welding them to a lower height? Would this work, has anyone done this before and does anyone have pictures that might be helpful?
Thanks
Michael

Re: Van Seat's?

I have a set of early 90s Astro van seats in my truck and they fit great. They go behind the hump in the floor perfectly, but they sit up a little high for my taste. They use the existing bench seat bolt holes and then you have to drill two more holes per seat. Just cut them down, drill four holes, and bolt them in. I'm getting rid of mine because I want a bench seat for practicality reasons.
