Jimmy / Blazer Seat Question

My Jimmy came with 2 buckets seats up front. (from the PO not factory) But they were only bolted on the front bolts and a piece of wood was under the carpet and the rear brackets were screwed, yes screwed, to them. So after removeing the carpet etc, I see that if you bolt up the front, the rear bracket holes are about 2" in front of the factory floor holes. And on the passenger side the bracket for the release is in the middle of the seat (as I have seen on many blazers) but my factory floor holes are over near the door, not in the middle. So obviously these aren't the factory seats, but are from a Blazer right? I assume Blazer and JImmy aren't different are they? Here's a listing for some seats that would appear to fit my truck with the passenger seat lockdown over on the side not middle:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/67-72...QQcmdZViewItem

The pics below describe what I'm talking about. Maybe these seats in my truck are from a different year? But the passenger does flip upo like a blazer should. Someone please fill me in. I don't want to use these and make new holes.

Thanks

Re: Jimmy / Blazer Seat Question

If you give us some better pic of the seats we can see if they really are correct. As for the passenger side That is a 71/72 bracket that you have on the seat. The 69/70 was a little different design and the bracket and peg were closer to the door where you see the holes. This is just my preference but my passenger seat in my 70 is more rickety(country saying) than my 71 I think it is because the peg and bracket are offset on 70. That is why I have a 71/72 bracket that I am going to put on my 70. I am in the process of replacing the floor pans now. Mine looks like yours especially the drivers side. I have some rust in that area so when I weld the pans back in I am going to move the bracket back over. I don't know if I will get rid of my 70 bracket or not once I remove it. If I do and you want it you can have it, Originally on the 70 the passenger seat belt sat in the same position as a truck. in 71 they moved it up on the kneewall. and moved the seat bracket more to the middle. There was issue with getting in the back with the seatbelt in the way. Again I am moving mine. Total preference. I have seen alot of the 71/72 brackets for sale not alot of 70

Re: Jimmy / Blazer Seat Question

Only reason I was saying that is. If you go to the parts post where the man in PA was selling a good set of blazer seats cheap. LUV I think you even reponded to the thread but the guy who bought them was persistant about making sure they were correct blazer seats. Because he had gotten a set and none of the rear holes lined up. Maybe some of the more knowledgable might know if they are 73's which the seat look very very close but I don't think bracket spacing would be the same since different floor pan. I don't know for sure just guessing

Re: Jimmy / Blazer Seat Question

73 and up blazer buckets look similar but really don't fit our years.
Their close, maybe that's what you've got.

Show us a pic of the entire seat along with better pics of the brackets.

Here's a pic of some 73+ seats. (bracket pics wouldn't load, sorry)

Re: Jimmy / Blazer Seat Question

Its says "rear seat equipment" and "heavy duty aux seat" so it had the seats, just not these seats. Yeah, I unbolted the seat and got the lever loose and the seat slides but the floor bracket stays the same. I guess I need to start looking for seat brackets or complete seats...

Re: Jimmy / Blazer Seat Question

I realize an old thread but thought I'd add this pic of the auxilary style seat..and you can note the side mounting bracket for the passenger seat.
If the blazer had the option of aux seat,it had this style. Thats why the holes aren't lining up using the other universal truck style.
