Sway Bar Added

Got a little time last night to get some work on the 70. I managed to add the front sway bar to it. I got it from a C20 Camper Special, added some poly mounts and a little cleaning and Eastwood paint. Need to touch it up a little. Maybe someday I'll be able to see how it improved the ride

Looks good Bill, I just got one from a parts truck I helped my brother drag home. It's only a 1/2 ton but you can't beat the price.

Re: Sway Bar Added

All the holes are there. You just have to remove two rivets on the front crossbeam and replace them with grade-8 bolts.

Looks good Bill!

I was walking around outside the other day and couldn't believe my eyes. I hadn't noticed it before but a parts truck I bought a while back for the cab has a sway bar. COOL! Only thing is, the truck was wrecked in the front and it may be bent but I'm going to pull it and see how she sizes up.

I'd bet the bar itself isn't bent. The mounts usually get thrashed, but the bar itself is quite tough. Use the FAQ article if you need. All the part numbers for mounts and clamps are listed.

Re: Sway Bar Added

I put a 1 1/4 inch bar from a 79 3/4 ton Camper Special truck and added new poly bushings from ECE and I noticed the difference driving the truck back around to the front of the house from the garage. I think this is the best upgrade value for the money you can do to our trucks.

I was thinking and hoping the same thing. This is the 1 1/4" off a 3/4 ton so it's probably ok. Also the mounts look fine too so that makes me think the bar is probably fine too. I'll go ahead and replace the mounts and bushings just to be on the safe side.
