Changing heater Core ?
Do I really have to remove the inner fender ? It looks like I have to it's Non A/C
It's the only part I did not replace when I rebuilt the truck. I noticed the smell a week ago but today the steam was coming out od the defrost vents I just looped the hose for now but it going to be a cold ride home.

Re: Changing heater Core ?
I think I read something a while ago about someone cutting or drilling an access hole in the inner for that bolt, and then putting a plug in it after. Coincidetally I just pulled mine apart this morning before work but I had already pulled the clip so mine was alot easier.

Re: Changing heater Core ?
I was going to make a hole, but the PO left the bottom bolt out from the last time it was apart. I left it out and just made sure to seal it well when I put it back together. But my truck is ghetto anyway

Re: Changing heater Core ?
On non ac you dont have to remove inner fender. I remove hood bolts from hinge. Then remove back hinge bolt from fender, and loosen front one, allowing it to swing forward. With a swivel and long extension, removing the heater box nuts on bottom isnt too hard. I have done a few this way to repair the heater boxes.......hope this helps.
