Re: The NO dash pad all steel look
Not that I plan to run into anything with my truck, but from experience I can testify that any padding on the leading edge of the dash is waaaaaaay better than no padding at all. I will grant that it can look nice, if done properly. But, the experience side of me can recall that a friend of mine, whose nearly-new '65 SS Impala was propelled into the rear end of my '54 Ford, and who subsequently had 11 of his front teeth broken off flush with the gums, would say to leave the dash pad. His replacement '65 SS had a padded dash. Oh, he got between his girlfriend and SHE helped to drive his open mouth onto the dash. I have no idea what he might have been trying to say, unless "Oh......" was starting to come out of his mouth. Never did ask him about that part.
Do what you like...it's your truck.

Re: The NO dash pad all steel look
The guy that owns this truck said he changes the dash in every thing he's ever built. Not what I would do but it is kinda cool.
