They are not the most popular model but that is why I like mine it is a little bit different. Kind of the ugly duckling of the truck world.

Good luck on the new ride.

Re: '67-'72 lwb stepbeds???

I am building a 72 4x4 LB Stepside. It used to be a fleetside but I wanted something different. I also saw a members picture of a green GMC 4x4 LB Stepside that I really liked so I bought a Stepside bed and here we go! I just have to decide on what color to use. I am leaning toward the stock 72 copper color, just not 100% sure yet.

Re: '67-'72 lwb stepbeds???

As you can probably tell I have a 69 Chevy 1/2 4x4 long step.Or I did.The bed
was shot,so i bought a fleet.I would have kept it if it wasnt in so bad of shape, but the fleet looks better in my opinion.i dont have any pics.My camera broke right before I bought it and then after I took it apart I got an new one.i bought my truck on "evilbay" for $600.

Re: '67-'72 lwb stepbeds???

Here's a link to my dad's '68 Long step. I can't make the pictures small enough to attach here.
As you can see, there a ton of work to do to bring it back. It's been in the family for over 30 years. Has a 396, A/C, and lots of other great things....

Re: '67-'72 lwb stepbeds???

Here's Old Yeller. Had'im a long time. The first photo is from '94 before I did the 2/3 drop. The second one is after I finally got the rebuilt engine in the sig installed. Still waiting on paint which is taking forever.

The whole write up on the how's and why's is at the link in the sig. The short story is I'm extremely sentimental and I have a need for speed.

My goal when I'm done is to have the fastest LBSS on the planet. Should be easily accomplished since no one besides me would ever be crazy enough to hot rod a LBSS.

Yeah, cool air and lots and lots of gas.

It's basically a ram air system. I took lots of photos while I was doing the install if anyone ever wants to try it.
