Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
Next on the to do list is carpet replacement. I know Early Classics has them as well as LMC. Wonder who the manufacturer is, same or different?
1. I need to know of good source for replacement carpet. Anyone have any experiences they could share? Going with the original Olive color. 80-20 loop. 2. I'm have not seen any factory color carpet floor mats for Blazers. Source? ..........Did these Blazers ever come with mats from the dealership.............?

Re: Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
I went with home depot indoor/outdoor carpet. $1 per square half acre
I'm ready to do carpet myself, let me know what you go with and how you like it. It's kinda fairly expensive investment by the time you buy all the noise barrier and padding. I want to buy something that will last.

Re: Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
I went to ACC's web site just to see what they offer. ACC offers a four peice floor mat package for our Blazers which I thought was interesting.
I'm not too thrilled with the color selection they offer once I selected 1972 Blazer as the vehicle I would like to purchase for. I guess they know what matches the original best. Here are the two greens they offer for the 80/20 loop carpet for the 72 Blazer. Dark Green: Moss Green: Here is my current carpet in an area that has not been sun faded. Guess I'm getting Dark Green Carpet? The color looks a little off, doesn't it? I'm sure lighting and the age of the carpet has a lot to do with it. Besides, why would they narrow the selection down to just 12 colors and pick poor matches out of all the colors they could choose from?

Re: Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
Green Monster the carpet you have in your blazer looks just like what was in my jimmy Auto Custom Carpet has a dark gold color I had them send me some sample color and I went with the dark gold. It looks a lot lighter in the sun.

The darker green looks a little astro-turffy (is that a word).

Click here for color samples at ACC.
I agree. The green looks too green. They do have a disclaimer stating that the colors are hard to match using the pictures and that you should consult you local ACC dealer. I was thinking these looked a little better. Dark Olive Green: Olive Green:

Re: Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
Contact ACC directly and see if they can take a sample from you and make a Blazer pattern? I do not know if they make custom colors, but I am sure it is just a matter of putting the carpet (that closely matches your sample you send them) into the process used to make the Blazer carpet. Worth a try or just settle for the closest thing. I bought ACC for my Camaro and it is still in the box (5+ years now!) but at the time I was told it is the best? Good luck!!

Re: Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
I believe you have an olive green closed loop carpet in your Blazer. It may be a little faded over the years, but that is what I think it started out as. ACC sells the same color and style. By the way, how is that new steering gear working out? WES

Yeah, I think olive green was the right color too. The new steering gear works great. Makes for a much more enjoyable drive with the variable ratio steering gear vs. the old 4 1/2 turns lock to lock -or should I say 4 1/2 turns "slop to slop". I purchased and installed carpet from ACC for my 1988 5.0 Mustang about 4 years ago. Turned out okay. The color was perfect. The wrinkles were not. They did a sloppy job glueing the pad to the carpet. There were wrinkles and buckles in the carpet. They glued the pad to the back of the carpet. The pad was taught but the carpet could not move because the two were glued together. If I were to do it again, I would make sure the pad is not glued on by them. Instead, I would intall the pad, glue it into place with spray adhesive, then install the carpet. That way everything can be positioned and glued into the proper place. The Blazer looks to be a much easier install.

Re: Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
Whoa! Nice interior Gary. What kind of pad did you use? Thanks for the ad advise about the color looking much brighter in the sunlight. I will go with a darker color then.
Hotrodhomi, my carpet is really beat. The carpet looked okay when purchased the truck in 2004 probably because the top had black 10% tint on the windows. With the tint on, not much light was getting inside to view the carpet. Although the tint should have saved the carpet, but I don't think the tint was on until about a year before I purchased the truck. When I took the top off, I looked inside and was suprised at how much worse the carpet looked in the broad daylight. I have much more respect for show cars that are convertables. The inside has to be just as immaculate as the outsided becuase everyone can see every angle of it, in perfect light. Anyway, the carpet looks bad and has to go. My father-in-law is a carpet seller and installer for 35 years. I talked to my father-in-law about the 80% rayon and 20% nylon, otherwise known as 80-20 loop carpet. He said rayon came out in the 40's and makes the carpet soft. But the rayone makes the carpet prone to matting. I told hime ACC does offer 100% Dupont nylon. He said nylon is the way to go. Either is prone to fading, but the nylon will hold up better. ACC can send out up to three swatches. I just have to get a hold of them on Monday and send some out so I can pick the right color. I think color 619, Olive Green, gets the nod.

Re: Replacement Factory Color Carpet and Floor Mats
I just bought new carpet from Brother's and its ACC carpet. You can get it in any color you want too, by the way. I got a set of Dark Blue for the Blazer to go with the Indigo paint. Was on sale and seems like a good price to me. Later, Jeff.
