I was wondering if you can use the master cylinder and brake booster off an 86 model on a 65 as im already using the disc brake setup off of it

Re: 86 swap
i know a 73-80 will bolt right up with no modification (minus a couple of holes drilled in the firewall) not sure about an 86 though. but mastercylinders and boosters are fairly generic. if you can get it mounted at the correct angle and hit the push rod it will work. you may need to fab brackets and a shorter or longer push rod to get the 86 to work. i'd look for a 73-80 instead.

Re: 86 swap
Can be done various ways. Here is some info if Josh gives us access again.
Column shifting has to be considered when fabricating. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=162730 I kinda like the 65-66 oem booster setup if you have access --you would need a 72 mc tho. Last edited by dennislbrooks; 05-05-2006 at 01:19 PM. |
