How do I "Decode" or ID my 12 bolt?
Hi:
I have a 1972 GMC Sierra 1500. It has leaf springs and a 12 bolt, how do I "ID" the 12 bolt to figure out what gear is in it? Thanks! |

On the passenger side axle tube close to the pumpkin near the top (somewhere between the shock mount and the cast center section) there is a stamped code.. you will need the last two to three letters, ( I use a knife to scrape the crud off)
When you find that look here for the info... http://www.americanclassic.com/paint.htm |
