Does anybody know how to remove chrome platting? I have a set of hood hinges that someone chromed and I really want to paint them black to get more of an OEM look.

Re: removing chrome platting

Why don't you just try and find someone with a set of nice regular hinges that wants chrome and will trade with you?

Re: removing chrome platting

The chrome platting has some pits in it and needs polishing. I'm not real big on chrome. I have to use my old springs but I would trade somone if they were intrested.
