wiring diagram
Does anybody have a good wiring diagram for the CCC system? Some of the wiring has been cut up, so I bought a TCI kit since I'm putting a 700r4 back in my truck and need to know what wires are hooked to what.
Also wich sender is for the oil gauge on the dash? The one by the dist, or the one by the oil filter? Both ends look to be factory. TIA

Re: wiring diagram
On my truck, both senders are by the distributor on a tee. The larger of the two is the oil pressure gauge. The smaller is for the switch.

Re: wiring diagram
CCC = computer control sytem, the carb is part of it.
I have an MSD and Holley carb just need to figure out how to wire the TCI kit to lock up the torque convertor since I'm going back to the original type of tranny, and pulling the TH350. I have one sender mounted by the dist on an 45 degree elbow and the other screwed into the block right above the oil filter. Doing away with what is left of the computer and using only what wiring I can to hook up the lock up.

Re: wiring diagram
Jeff J,
you have no computer. Only had an ESC (electronic spark control). Read this article I wrote about hooking up the 700R4. I don't know anything about TCI's kit but should be similar to what I did since there is only so much you can do anyway. I will tell you here that all you need as far as power to the tranny is 12 volts. http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/drivetrain/lockup.htm

Re: wiring diagram
The sender on the top of the motor is the oil pressure switch. the sender that is down by the oil filter is the one that sends a signal to your electric choke and other itmes that need to be triggered from a positive oil pressure switch.
I have a factory shop manual that includes wiring diagrams. I may be able to get what you want, but which part of the computer contriol is of interest to you? You may want to look at Street and Perfomormance's website http://www.hotrodlane.cc/ and go to their tech section. They have basic wiring setups for the 700R4 wires and what would be needed to get them hooked up. If your system has been butchered, you may be able to go this way and do it easier---cheaper. Re: wiring diagram
I have the connectors for part # 3 & 4. So if I wire it up like what is in this drawing, it should work. Does anybody know what factory pressure switch part # is?

Re: wiring diagram
As for the 4th gear pressure switch part number, it depends on what TCC solenoid you have. If you have a two wire TCC solenoid, which is what your diagram shows, you need part number 8627332. If your solenoid is one wire, you need part number 8643710.
As for if you hook it up like the drawing shows will it work, most definetely it will. But don't expect it to lock up in any gear except 4th. It won't lock at all until it shifts into OD (4th). When it does shift into 4th, it will instantly lock. Mike |
