1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
I am talking with a fellow who has a 1971 Blazer for sale. It has what he describes as a dealer installed half cab. When he sent me pictures of the interior it has a bench seat in it. Were these early Blazers ever delivered with a bench seat, or has someone added this? Thanks

Re: 1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
i believe bench seats were not available as an option. The half cab was a dealer option at some point.

That doesn't look like the dealer half-tops I've seen pictures of, but still very nice.

Re: 1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
I've never seen a half cab that looked like that. That looks like one from a Bronco or something...it just too SQUARE. They should look like this.

The grill looks S10'ish to me...
Otherwise, it's a nice looking truck. Rg

Re: 1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
Wonder if it has the spare tire hoop or if it's just bolted to the bulkhead?
Some pictures I have seen show that the hoops were mounted in that area on ones ordered w/ no rear seats, hmmmmm, inquiring minds wtk

Re: 1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
I guess there was a few companies that made these back then for all the Utes.None were factory.Alot of common aftermarket upgrades are refered to as dealer installed, when more than likely they were owner or non-GM dealer/truck upfitter installed. Most dealers don`t get involved in alot of add-on stuff. They leave that up to the buyer. The biggest exceptions would be add-on a/c or camper installs.

Re: 1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
Believe it or not, I used to install Jeep soft-tops at a dealer when I was 19. They were a dealer installed item, this was in 1980. We installed one on every Jeep that came through unless it had a hard top...
I didn't have a clue on the first one I did but I got pretty good at it over time. Rg

Re: 1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
Looks like the same color and squared off top. But the grill was stock then. If the price is right is buy it. Looks like it's kinda cobbled together now though. What else got changed out and why? Hmmm

Re: 1971 Blazer half cab with bench seat
you can see the kid in the drivers seat,His daddy has some money and spent 27k getting that blazer done.Is been awhile but he paid 7k for it in those pics on the top of the tread.so I think 34k has been spent total on that blazer.Iknow the blazer was torn down and built up,and the engine is original and rebuilt.
