Exclamation Got me a new present for the blazer!

TOW HOOKS! Now i'm part of the club

They're the 67-68 ones i'm pretty sure. I know they're not blazer specific, but i can make them work, right? (bumper trimming/making notches? If you know please tell me! Also, i know mounting them properly has been talked about to, if anyone could refresh me /post directions/ a link.. please do so!)

If anyone has any nice pics of trucks with ANY style tow hooks MOUNTED, don't be shy of posting them up. I wouldnt mind seing how they look.

I know this style(67/680 is supposed to be the least valuable of the three, but i'm still happy to have them. I kinda like how they curl. I dont like the 72 only.. with the "extreme" bend. If the 72 hooks didnt both bend the same direction,i think i'd be more partial to them.. jmho. Since i'm most likely putting these on my blazer i'm not too worried about having ones with the highest re-sale anyways. I think i got a pretty alright deal for them too... esp. vs. some others i've seen on ebay that have just been spray painted (ahem).

Thanks for the help and any words of wisdom. I'll be sure to weld the threads

Atleast i don't think these will loose value as time goes on... i hope! But since they're going on the blazer who cares right

Re: Got me a new present for the blazer!

YEeeeeaaaaaaaAAAA ! They came, i'm a happy camper.
I got these from a guy up near Portland, OR. I found them on craigslist and he was willing to ship them for me. I know they're a bit more then the 67/68's usually go for, but i'm VERY happy to have a pair. I got them for about $200, and i dont have to worry about cleaning them up - already done for me. Further more i know they werent even made for blazers since blazers werent made untill 69, ohh but they'll do JUST fine.. You can find a bunch of his adds on craigslist under the parts section (portland or craigslist*). I'll be sure you re-update this post once again as soon as i slap them on the blazer!

Luv i'll try to decifer(sp) the #'s a bit better for ya later on.

What type and size bolts should i use for these? (grade 8 no doubt). I'll probably bring one to the hardware store when i go to get bolts anyways. and YES I'll MOST DEF. BE WELDING THE NUTS
Also, i may just make another post on this, but how should i go about drilling my frame I think i may have heard these were supposed to have backing plates (just the same way roll bars should) , but i think some beefey washers will be ok, no?

Not sure what else i've forgot but i'm sure i'll add more later once i remember.

If you dont have any of these or havent seen any in person (like me prior to today), the pic i included should give you a good idea of their size!!!! These things arent going to help my gas milage

Re: Got me a new present for the blazer!

That's a nice shot!

Looking good! Nice tow hooks also, i bet they didnt cost NEARLY as much as mine , which is a GOOD thing.

I was about to ask more questions i've spaced out on, but found what i wanted to know right here:

in the event that anyone else was wondering.
