A buddy has one...
A friend of mine has both the top filter and the 14" element and it sure looks sweet...LOL. He says it feels better. In reality you may get a little better mileage, and ya know more air means more power. But you not going to feel a huge difference with 12-15 hp.
In the long term I think the setup is worth it, being that it is reusable/ cleanable...

YEP -- I'VE GOT ONE ON MY BB. YOU WON'T NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE LIKE A 400 HP N2O KIT, BUT, MORE AIR IS DEFINATLY BETTER. (YA BETTER ADD A LITTLE TO THAT $45 FIGURE THOUGH)

I have one on my 383, I was using it along with an edalbrock air-gap and the old truck woundnt hardly even run in the winter, I finally switched intakes and I still remove the K-N in the late fall and put on my old stock air cleaner.

I'VE NEVER EXPERIANCED A PROBLEM OF HAVING TOO MUCH COLD AIR, OF COARSE I LIVE IN NEVADA AT ABOUT 5000 FEET ELEVATION & IT SELDOM GETS TO 10 BELOW EITHER, BUT A REGULAR AIR CLEANER IS NOT GOING TO HEAT UP THE AIR, NO MATTER HOW COLD IT IS.

i thought about getting one when i get a cowl induction hood, but i was thinking 'will it suck water with a cowl induction hood and one of those tops, the hoods have a piece welded in so you're not sucking everything in but i'm just concerned about the water issue,
