cowl vent seal replacement
I am replacing the side cowl vent seals. I was wondering what you use to replace the rivets to put the vent door back together?

Re: cowl vent seal replacement
I used pop rivets, making sure that the ugly side of them was on the saide of the vent that you cant see.

Re: cowl vent seal replacement
We're just doing this also, I want to use aluminum pop rivets because they squish easier, but will the aluminum on the steel corrode, or is steel better ?

Re: cowl vent seal replacement
I used aluminum rivets on mine 3 years ago, then touched them up with black paint and haven't noticed any electrolysis on the metal. May be because I live in a pretty dry climate.

Re: cowl vent seal replacement
I know rivets are factory, but I bought stainless steel bolts and nuts. I just put mine on today. I think they look pretty good, if anyone were to crawl under and look. I'll try to post a picture later.

Re: cowl vent seal replacement
Just got done with them, used 1/8 x 1/8 long aluminum pop rivets, looks great to me, I think I'm not going to paint the heads, looks kind of "custom" with the fresh black paint
