Angry She took it.

For the backstory...

New news: As of yet, she'd rather have the truck than me. (Technically, she said she wanted to discuss it with her mother. But why would this decision require discussion?)

It was fun while it lasted...

Project70, I hope you stay around and buy another 67-72 or atleast a nice project. Im sorry to hear about your losses and personally I think you made the right choice. Did you strip all your parts? I would and give her what you started with nothing more. I would have done the same; so dont feel that you made a bad choice.

It's gonna take me a few days to get all of my parts out of it (I still need to find the old points ignition to drop in it) but so far, yes, I've gotten the easier ones. The suspension and tranny are a loss, as is the paint.

I won't be buying another '67-'72 anytime soon...but I will still hang around...reason being I won't be able to find one that will make the Phoenix-Tucson run and back repeatedly and reliably for under the $3200 I have.

Right now, I'm thinking second or third gen F-body.

I don't want to start a whole religious debate, but I am real curious what religion this might be? If you don't feel like answering, please don't, because it is not that important, but I am real curious. I see the area that you are from and wonder if the religions starts with a "M"?

It would be cool if a bunch of us could donate some time and labor to build up an old truck for someone in a case like this.

Your mom is confused right now, please forgive her.

Good luck lil bro.............

I hope it works out man, keep trying, maybe somewhere your mother will realize its a stupid thing to do and give/sell you the truck back.
Good Luck.

Has one of our members got a good solid starter truck for this kid that can cut him a deal. If so I'll find a few bucks to throw into the pot. Anybody else got a months worth of beer money to sacrifice to a good cause?

Just out of curiosity is she very religious, or just using that as an excuse to justify taking the truck away? Parents can be a real pain in the butt sometimes. Why would anyone force there kids to go on a mission for two years is beyond me. I think you should encourage them, but force them no way. It's to bad it's always the kids that get hurt the most in a divorce. I think I some what know what your going through. maybe you should have a chat with the bishop and have her explain in front of him what's going on! I don't know the whole situation but there has to be a better solution or compromise. Good luck and if you need someone to talk to email me.

Sorry to hear that. What you should do is get a cheaper car (good gas mileage) and save up your money.. that way you can build up an ever better truck about 10 years from now. Stay interested and keep comin to the board.

man i feel for ya. im mormon and im not going on a mission. most board members dont know the pressure the church creates to make all 19 year old kids go on missions. youre brave to defy your mom. just tell the bishop and he'll help straighten things out good luck.

devinfife, has he actually said he is Mormon? Given the area he is from, I thought that is what it might be. Especially at his age where he would be expected to go on his mission. But I have not seen him actually say that is the religion.
