putting 250 |6 in V8 mounting holes?
can i do this? bloo has a car 305 at the moment, which doesnt have enough torque to pull my truck. so im wanting to put in a 250 for now, while im building the 400SB. but i dont want this thing to be alot of work sinse its temporary, so i dont want to go moving stuff back.. so will it clear the radiator in the v8 holes?

With out knowing much about them, I'll say no. The inlines are longer than the small blocks, and just from working on other makes and models that have inline motors, I'd say they sit that far back for a reason.

would you say that the V8 cradle is maybe 4 inches farther forward? im thinking if dubie's fan is 1 1/2 inch from the radiator, with a 4 inch extension, i can run mine with no extension and clear it

Not sure.
Are you able to go with no spacer? Sme engines need the spacer. |

Hey Blue, I don't beleive it will wory the moter mounts-frame towers on the 6-cylinder have the extra metal mounting piece and in order for it to set level and correct you would have to have this.

The V-8 will bolt in the 6 cylender possition and you won't have to move the cradle for the bell housing. Lots of guys do that swap and the only problem they have is the distributer is real close to the firewall. Not a problem, but a real dead give-a-way that the modifacation has been made. I prefer to set the V-8 in the V-8 possition, but I have access to lots and lots of parts...LOL WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

i can see why youd want the V8 in V8 position, waaaaay to close to the firewall (my 4x4 has a V8 in the six position, like all 4x4s)
but im wanting to put a straight 6 in the V8 position, because i dont want to move my tranny back and have the driveshaft shortened
