Mystery spacers???
Guys, need your experience here. I was dropping the T-case our of my 69 Blazer today and then on to the crossmember and noticed some weird spacers on all 4 corners (upper and lower frame) between the frame and crossmember effectively lowering everthing 9/16" of an inch. Has anyone seen this? Also has anyone seen the type of spring I have in the back?? Overload?? I am wondering if this spacer is somehow related to the rear spring setup I have? Anyway here are the pics

Is your blazer lifted pretty high? Some people lower the Tcase to get a good angle to the rear diff.

No in fact, no lift kit as far as I can see.......front springs are 2 leaf, stock shocks..................the back though, as measured from the top of 35-12's on both rigs show that the blazer is 1-1/2 to 2 inches higher than my 72 4x4 SWB between the fender and the tire. The truck is stock suspension. Of course the Blazer doesn't have the weight of the top on it. The springs are wild in the back, some kind of overload I am thinking..............

Yeah it looks like a regular NP205. I will degrease it today and make sure, but it looks stock to me

If the truck originally had a 307/3 speed combo, it would have had a Dana 20. I don't know if the cross member for the dana 20 is different. Is it possible someone swapped in the 205 sometime in it's life?

Bouncy, cleaned it all up (always my favorite job) and sure enough, NP-205 on the tag. I don't know the history of the truck but it definately doesn't have a lift kit in it, just what I think are overloads in the back. It didn't come with a motor and the trans is a TH350. The guy I got it from had a 383 small block in it for a while but took it out before he sold it to me. One other weird thing is the firewall directly in back of where the distributor sets is all hammered on like the PO was trying to make more room for his distributor, I am thinking an HEI since they do fit tighter than stock. It's a mystery for sure, and I can't see a reason to leave the spacers in when I rebuild everything.....anyone have an opinion on that?

One other thing I wanted to mention, all four spacers are identical and machined exact, like you would find in professional kit of some kind.
