Unhappy 67-72 Cig. Lighter.

The cig. lighter that most vendors sell that fit 67-72 should be changed to 68-72 it is to big to fit the hole on the 67 and I am not about to file the hole out after it has been painted. I guess I will have to steal the orginal one out of the daily driver or off to Advanced Auto I go. I was just telling you all this so you want make the same mistake them lighter are not the cheapest to buy anyway.

Hey big blue 72, I have 3 67's and another 67 cab. Eat up with them Anyway you will notice your cig lighter hole is smaller I thouht it would work without the bezel but still to big. Also the key switch bezel is diffrent and so is the ashtray. But I am also diffrent so I guess that is why I LOVE em! The vent window handles and door handles are also.

Tim - Have you physically tryed to put the new cig lighter in the hole. I have a 67 GMC, and I was able to pull my original lighter housing out, and the new reproduction fit in the hole like a dream. My 67 did not have the bezel, and the reproduction does, as well as a light. I did not have to modify my dash hole at all.

Very interesting! I need to write down all these '67 peculiarities, they seem to be adding up to be quite a few. I would've encountered this one at some point, but you headed it off at the pass. Thanks Tim!

I did not know this until I was looking for a cig lighter for mine in Carlisle. A guy had one he said was just for a 67. Looked close to me but he wanted 10 bucks. I found one for my 71 for 3 bucks Looks great and works.
