OK--I'd like to convert my '68 from manual to power steering. Before I get in too deep, just what is involved besides getting a p/s box and pump? Will the box bolt on to my frame or do I need some sort of adapters? Thanks

You need the box for these trucks, it bolts to the outside of the frame, the holes should be there. You need the pump, pump mounting bracket, pulley, the pulley off the crank, the hoses, and the pitman arm. Takes an hour or so to install.

You also need the rag joint that joins the new power gear box to the intermediate shaft and the steering column. If I remember right, the manual gear box has a smaller shaft than the power box.

I've got a '70 box W/pitman arm coming and I have the pump, but I saw in one of the vendor catalogs a kit for this purpose ($89)!!! with the "necessary brackets, etc." What do you think that's all about?? Is this a bolt-on or not? Is there something I need to bolt the box to the frame other than the bolts? Thanks again

Don't forget to take a wedge out of the bumper bracket so it will make room for the box..the PS box is longer than the MS box....you can use a grinder or a torch....or maybe a sawzall with a metal blade.
