New Truck

I just got this truck two months ago in Texas while I was on leave. I just got it delivered last week. I cleaned it up and added some parts on had bought while it was getting here. I get all kinds of smiles from everybody. Someone put a lot of time in this truck. I bought it from a Muscle car dealer in New Braunfalls, Tx. I'm looking forward to talking to all you. I'm still learning about this truck. The previous owner did alot of good stuff to this truck. I send more pix later on.

Welcome to the board from West Tennessee. Now that's the way to get your feet wet. Just dive in to the deep end of the pool. I hope the one I'm working on turns out that good.

Re: New Truck

Welcome!! I've always wondered what one of those air cleaners would look like on a 67-72. Got any pics of where the air inlets end up?

Re: New Truck

I want to thank you for all the postive responses. I live in Utah. I'm the USAF. I have a 1971 Stepside. The color is Turquoise. It has a stroked 350, Turbo 350 and 12 bolt rear. The engine has a Weiand intake, Edlebrock carb, MSD Pro-Billet Distributor, Hedman long tube headers flowing into dual 3 inch exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. It has a good size cam in it. I don't know what kind and the lift in it. I know it's big because it only has 7 inches of vacuum. In the interior it has 2001 corvette leather seats. The driver side is also powered. I put a Lecarra steering wheel as soon as I bought it. It also has a Blazer center console. And changing the gears is a B&M Megashifter. I don't know what all has been done to the suspension. It has all been redone. It looks like it has tubular lower control arms. And maybe a lowered spindle. The chassis is really nice. The rear has Air shocks. It also has had the gas tank placed in between the frame rails. The battery is also back. It really cleans up the engine bay. The previous owner put a plywood bed in the back. It has hinges in the middle to lift and have access to the fuel cell and battery. It also has American Racing wheels with BF Goodrich tires. With 235/60 in the front and 275/60 out back. I love the looks and the performance of this truck. Classic Trucks Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing small things to spruce it up. Replacing chrome items that are looking old. I want to make it unique for me. I do like alot of the things you all are doing to your truck.

Re: New Truck

I also forgot to mention. It also has an Aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. For RATROD67 the air cleaner has dual 4in hoses that are attached onto the radiator support. I don't know if it was radiator support was an aftermarket part for the dual snorkel air cleaner. It looks really nice. I forgot to send the pix of the fuel tank.

How is the tire clearance in the rear on those 275s?

Re: New Truck

Was that truck at AutoManiacs in New Braunfalls? Thats an awesome place ! Whenever I'm in San Antonio and I'm forces to take my wife to San Marcos, I hit AutoManiacs for some "drool-time".

Check them out at www.automaniacs.com

NICE TRUCK ! !
