Nasty film on windshield
I really have been enjoying cruising around on the weekends since getting my truck out of the paint shop after four months of just setting there. I've got quite a few great comments and hope to get more locals involved in restoring these fantastic trucks.
But I have a problem...nasty film that develops on the windshield and really all the glass in the truck. I keep the windows rolled up during the week but not sure if that has anything to do with it. Anyone else having this problem and if so how do you get rid on it? Any help is much appreciated. Randy

Re: Nasty film on windshield
I've heard of this happening on new cars, all the new plastic, paint and vinyl give of gasses that collect on the glass. You likely don't have much plastic, but maybe the new paint and carpet etc. might be doing it. Try leaving the windows open and get it out in the sun and cook it out.

Re: Nasty film on windshield
check the passenger side floor board to see if it's damp at all..
if so it's the heater core...antifreeze vapors are a bit#h to clean off the glass and will steam up the windows..even a tiny leak.. other wise glass cleaner and old news paper are the best things to clean glass with... hope this helps mark |

Re: Nasty film on windshield
I second heater core, but you will see the steam coming out of the defrost ducts normally. But mine did it for along time before I realised it.
