Car Craft Nationals St Paul, MN
I brought the family to the show today and was both thrilled to see a couple of the trucks I found and a bit put off by some of the junk parked in the grounds. It's kind of sad when my unpainted tired looking hot rod truck is nicer than at least 3 or 4 of the entries. I figure they want to park on the grounds so they can bring in coolers, etc, which wasn't allowed for paying viewers. But still...
Anyway, here are some pics of the nicer rides. I was dissapointed that there was not one suburban there and only one blazer. 4 Wheeler for sale: for those interested Nice interior. I had this idea last year and was thrilled to see it done and even happier how it looked Cool weed eater with the future owner of my truck One of my favorites. This guy called me back (left card in his truck) and he's going to get me the paint code. I've been searching for this color for years. It looks blue, but it's really more of an aqua. Even the wife liked it. The blazer

Thanks for the pics. Wish I could have made it. I was coming back from the cities on Thursday with my big truck and really enjoyed seeing all the cars heading down there. Made the trip up to Fargo go alot quicker.

No GMC trucks.
The thing you have to remember, that is Car Craft, and the last decade or so, they've been pushing low buck/beater/drive your heap even if it isn't done/alt body styles. Personally, I love the direction they have gone, and in all reality, they have even pushed the entire hobby in a way. Those are some fine looking trucks there, I think I like these the most; Ghost flames rock, but I'm not too fond of the mirrors; |

Re: Car Craft Nationals St Paul, MN
I grew up 8 blocks from the main gate. Golly I miss the 5 minute drive to EVERY car show there each summer. Some times, by the time I found a parking spot, I could have just as easily walked there.
You guys should see it in the fall and spring. All those buildings on the fair grounds are rented out for storage. It always looks like another car show when they get dropped off in the fall and picked up in the spring.

wibilly, I didn't see any swap area, but I didn't see everything. Chances are that there wasn't.

Re: Car Craft Nationals St Paul, MN
I went on sunday i was pissed to see no GMC trucks, plus in my opinion they might as well call it a fricken chevy show i can't remember the last time i saw that many chevelles, camaro's and chevy cars/trucks. I don't like chevy with a passtion, as a vehical i would own. Don't get me started in the back to the 50's show. the car craft shirt place had lots of chevy t-shirts and one FORD t-shirt i was mad.
just letin of some steam pat

Re: Car Craft Nationals St Paul, MN
What day did you go to the show? I went on Saturday but only in the morning. I saw a few of the ones you posted. I did see a couple Suburbans for sale at the show. One looked like it just got out of the paint shop and driven to the show. No front and rear bumpers or mirrors. The entire interior was stripped save for one bucket seat that was set in the middle row. Don't ask me why. The other one had camo paint on it and a 454 stuffed under the hood. I didn't bring a camera this year. Next time I will.

Re: Car Craft Nationals St Paul, MN
Alex, that burb was for sale, $6000 as is. I have been told about it by everybody there who also happen to know me. I don't know why??
I didn't go this year. You should have called me HGS, it would have been a good excuse to go. They also had over 6000 vehicles there this year. That is a pretty big show now. The orange 3/4 ton 4x4 truck was at the All GM Show in june. It should have one very pretty big block under the hood.

Re: Car Craft Nationals St Paul, MN
That 71 4x4 was sweet all right. Would have loved to take it home with me and I'd have two matching colored trucks, one 2wd and one 4x4, both big blocks.

Re: Car Craft Nationals St Paul, MN
Car Craft Magazine! WOW, what memories. Back in 1979 & 1980 my friend and I attended when the Street Machine Nationals were in Indianapolis. In 1980 we took our 1968 & 1969 R/T Chargers from Princeton WVA to Indy, got to ride on the Brickyard on Friday morning. On Sunday they gave away the grand prize and my buddy won it. It was a 1980 Pontiac Firebird that had been fully customized by Ted Barney of California. It's a good thing that my wife went along with us, she had to drive it back home. We were low on cash and gas was hard to come by, but we made it. Great memories!
