Bed For My Truck
I'm going to get rid of the 1992 bed on my truck and going to get an original bed. I don't know what kind I'm getting, would either stepside or fleetside work? Also, will any short bed 1967-1972 fit or only particular years? Also, what hardware will I need for this swap? Thanks in advance.

good move . either bed should work , the earlier beds wont have the side marker holes in the fenders , i would think you would need mounting hardware and mounting pads is the harness stock for the lites ? is the tank back there ?

No the tank is up front, so that shouldn't be a problem. Not sure on the wiring harness for the lights. Are 1967, 1969, and 1971 stepside beds identical? Are 1967, 1969, and 1971 fleetside beds identical? Thanks.

Either bed will work, depends on what look you are going for. Stepside would probably be cheaper. SWB are kinda pricey whether new or used. MAR-K builds a nice step side bed (I've bought 2, see my link). Goodmark sells most of the stuff to build a SWB.

A good swb rust free bed is hard to come by. I just used a good lwb bed and made my own.
