Bad A/C Condenser?
I'm thinking I have a leaky A/C condenser. I sniffed all around w/ my Freon sniffer & it goes off by the condenser.
I've charged the system up to about 45psi & it held it overnight. But, it won't hold a vacuum for a single minute. Unfortunately condensers aren't cheap, even though I am. Does anyone know of a good way to test a condenser? The only thing I've come up with is taking it out & putting a rubber stopper on one line & blow air through it. I've soldered my heater core back to life again. Would I be wasting my time trying to do to on a condenser? Thanks, John

Re: Bad A/C Condenser?
Make up a solution of soapy water and spray it on the area the sniffer is going off. That will help pinpoint it.
Capping off an end and blowing compressed can help too. Problem with soldering, compared to a heater core. Core operates about 13-15 psi, condensor upwards of 300-350 psi.

Re: Bad A/C Condenser?
Soap & water is a very good idea. I think I'll try that along w/ the compressed air.
