Re: shorty headers-ceramic coated......
They won't fit. I bought a set exactly like those(dif brand) to put in my '68 1/2 ton and had to return them. I ended up ordering these.....
http://www.hedman.com/pages/hedmanmain.html Jegs has em' for $265.00 They have a ball joint collector so you don't need gaskets and they never leak. However, I will say this. I went with the mid-lenght hedder over the long tube and lost a little power and rpms on the big end. Picked up torque though. |

Re: shorty headers-ceramic coated......
I've seen guys use the Chevelle shorty header on BBC not on the SBC, but if they did or do, I am sure someone will chime in.

Re: shorty headers-ceramic coated......
Ah....That might be the difference as I was trying to install on a small block.
Also, I just though of this. My motor is mounted in the back two motor mount holes and is really close to the fire wall. That might be the only reason they didn't fit...... |

Re: shorty headers-ceramic coated......
Depends, where did thet hit? If they hit the crossmember in the back position, they won't fit period. Sometimes you need to notch the frame on the 67-8 because they are a bit wider than the 69-72. The forward position is good for small and BBC.

Re: shorty headers-ceramic coated......
They hit the frame. I no longer have a stock cross member. Welded up a custom one back when I did the trans swap. Those hedders did seem a bit wider.
