to straighten a frame. how much?
i bought a 1972 c10 lwb, by the pics my wife sent me it might be better to replace the frame with a shortbed frame instead of treating the frame and replacing indiviual parts. we both like the shortbed better. through the miracle of internet theres a 1967 and 1972 c10 i can get from nc for cheap cheap in NC. the guy says that the 72 has frame damage. what is the price range for having a frame straightened? then again, will it be so bad to use the 67's frame? both are swb stepsides.

Re: to straighten a frame. how much?
I was charged $450.00 to straighted out my GMC's frame it was crashed before I got the truck and it had a bow a diamond and a twist to it. I took the body off of it and took it to a frame shop and it was the best $450 I have spent on the truck.

I'm taking a body shop class at the local tech school, we're supposed to learn how to use the frame machine, seems to me the instructor would not mind what frame was straightened. The class is $150, maybe there's similar classes around you? Just a thought.

Hey, I took that class. Mr. Rice laughed at my truck. I can't wait to get it finished. I will have to take it back and let him have another look at it.

Re: to straighten a frame. how much?
I had a shop charge me 35 to straighten my front frame horns......a good deal. He is an old time guy who had all the measurements and I stripped the front end and engine out of it.
The only problem with the 67 frame is just about all of them do not have the dimple in the frame for a power steering box. I am not that far from you........I have a straight 69 swb frame I can sell/trade if it comes down to that |

I had mine done by the local Vo-Tech for free a couple years ago. it was bent to the drivers side about 3 inches just ahead of the Xmember.
