Plug wires & ram horns
I want to route the spark plug wires between the block & ram horn exhaust.
Wondering what people have done to prevent wires from burning on exhaust? I have thought about making a shield & putting a adhesive backed heat barrier on it. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=20801 |

Re: Plug wires & ram horns
What do you mean between the block? Do you want to go around or over the top?

Re: Plug wires & ram horns
I want to go from the dist. around the back of the valve covers with the wires tucked up against the block. Basically I want the wires pretty much hidden.

Re: Plug wires & ram horns
Stuff is readily available, the trucks came from the factory with the wires tucked around and behind the manifolds. Are you running an HEI

Re: Plug wires & ram horns
Just route them around and under. Use small seperators to tie them together....

Re: Plug wires & ram horns
Hi ken. It seems to me the early small blocks had some metal brackets that bolted to the block behind the manifolds that were actually the wire holders. Probably near impossible to find these days? And what brand of wires are those anyway? I like the boot on those. I would like to know just what application to ask for when I go to buy my wires. I have HEI and headers now but will go to the ram horns later.

Re: Plug wires & ram horns
Mine go behind the manifold and between the block and the engine mount. That keeps the wires away from the manifold without any special bracket.

Re: Plug wires & ram horns
Go for 1975 Corvette wires, they should work with HEI
