check and see if you got power to the starter, maybe see if the fusable link is blown however i would think that nothing would work if that were the case

Re: truck wont start need help please

When you turn the key to start do you have power to both large terminals on the starter or just one?

Re: truck wont start need help please

its also possible your battery cable has came apart inside and your not getting power to the starter the rest of the truck gets power of the other wire of the terimal that run to the juntion box on the fender right above the battery

given you have it in park and its a good starter. I'd say you should check for resistance

Re: truck wont start need help please

If the truck is an automatic with column shift, i would say check the neutral safety switch, maybe hold up on the shift lever and try to start. but since its a 4x4 , i would asume its a stick shift, so that probably aint gonna help.
Have you had any indication of problems before now? maybe the starter not acting right before? if so i would suspect the solenoid, or the small wire going to it. i have had that wire burn in two inside the insulation, i couldnt tell untill i pulled on the wire and the isulation just pulled in two. thats where i would start. check that wire from end to end for continuity and if it shows good i would replace the solenoid. if that dont fix it then i would be stuck and have to ask somebody else. good luck, Tony
