big block swap information wanted
I normally hang around the 67-72 forum, but I have recently gained ownership of a '65 C10 project with no engine or transmission (did have a V8 and T350).
I have a 396 and T400 to go in it. What changes will I need to make for this to work? Any suggestions or links would be appreciated. Thanks, Jason

aluminum radiator possibly for better cooling - maybe heavier springs

Re: big block swap information wanted
What about the engine mounting/ towers? Will the big block fit correctly in the engine compartment using the original 283 placement and towers?

Re: big block swap information wanted
Depends on the valve covers, it is really close to fitting in the stock location however the tsock fram stands will not allow the manifolds or headers to clear, you can purchase the stands from early classics and then move them one set of holes forward, this will clear for tall valvecovers and you will have to run a short water pump and brackets.
hope this helps.

Re: big block swap information wanted
70-72 engine towers for a big block will make it fit nicely. I dont know about the plumbing, but I used those twers to get a pontiac 400 to fit into my 63 and they work well.
