Okay I've got a new 85 frame under my 74 cab, I have nout put the front bumper on but I heard they are different. What do I need to do to make my 74 bumpers work on the 85 frame!

Re: Bumper Bracket Questions.....
You will need to trim the front of the frame off and use the 74 brackets and bumper.

Re: Bumper Bracket Questions.....
You may be able to shim the bottom of the mount also. I haven't done it, but you might hang teh bumper to see how it sets.

Re: Bumper Bracket Questions.....
You don't have to trim the 80's frame to fit a '70's bumper, you would have to add metal for the bottom center bolts. Your bottom bolt will be missing in the center sections since the '80's frame is slanted in. If you mount it up you will see what I am talking about.

do you think it is physically possiable to fit a 67-72 bumper on the back of my truck? As in, will me bed side fit between the bumper or is it too small? I've asked this question a few times and have had no answers. I figured you could probably figure it out. I dont care about the brackets I can fab them up to make it work. thanks... chuck |

Re: Bumper Bracket Questions.....
Maybe you can create a post in the 67-72 message board and see if one of them can post the dimensions of the rear bumper.
